Course Overview
Elevated lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)] levels is an established independent and causal risk factor for cardiovascular disease. High Lp(a) levels are prevalent and present in approximately 20% of the population. Universal screening of Lp(a) is recommended for all adults. This program will provide an overview of Lp(a) and associated risk for cardiovascular disease. The focus of the program will be on exploring how Lp(a) levels can be utilized in cardiovascular risk assessment and be used to inform treatment strategies. This program will also provide updates on the novel Lp(a)-lowering therapies in development.

Advanced Lipid Management: Everything You Need to Know About Lipoprotein(a) is $50 for Industry Representatives and $35 for Practicing Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurses and Healthcare Professionals. Fellows, Residents, Students, and Penn Medicine employees, faculty or staff may attend at no cost. Penn Medicine employees, faculty and staff must register using a valid Penn Medicine email address (your Pennkey and password) to receive complimentary registration.

Designation of Credit
Physicians:
Penn Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 4.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

ABIM MOC: Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 4.25 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

Nurses: This program provides 4.25 NCPD Hours.
