Course Overview
Perinatal Loss and Bereavement Care in the 21st Century will feature speakers who are leaders and researchers in their respective fields of stillbirth and pregnancy loss and trauma and grief. The first half of the day will have a medical focus with a keynote speaker who has spent over 20 years researching stillbirth and pregnancy loss.  We will also hear from other medical providers who will speak to the research in this field and the current and future directions. The second half of the conference will concentrate on the psychosocial aspect of this topic featuring a keynote speaker who leads a psychosocial service team and is involved in the development of a Perinatal Palliative and Bereavement Care Program. The remainder of the afternoon will include topics including the Share burial process, introduction to therapeutic activities and language, community development of a Perinatal Bereavement program, and discussions of racial disparities and health inequities in at-risk populations.
