    Course Overview
    The education goals for this activity are to provide a distinctive scholarly environment for academic career development in glomerular disease, hypertension and related fields in renal medicine. In addition, the series is intended to promote gains in medical knowledge, skills, and experience in the treatment of kidney diseases, acute and chronic, to reduce complications in patient care involving medical or surgical illnesses. Participants will obtain knowledge of established and evolving, biomedical, clinical, epidemiological, and social-behavioral sciences, as well as the application of this knowledge to patient care.

    Objectives
    1. Describe contemporary advancements in nephrology through research updates and critical analysis of current published works in areas relevant to clinical care
    2. Demonstrate increased awareness and understanding of multidisciplinary topics that apply to nephrology care
    3. Describe safety practices within the Penn healthcare system, relevant to patient care and patient-centered outcomes
    4. Describe healthcare disparities within the Penn healthcare system and global nephrology care including strategies for mitigation
