Course Overview
The overall goal of this series is to expose trainees and faculty to basic imaging-based research and innovations so that it may stimulate future evolution of the practice of radiology. Also, this series will educate these groups in state-of-the-art clinical sub-specialty practice including issues of quality assurance, business, and professionalism in radiology.

Target Audience
Specialties - DIAGNOSTIC RADIOLOGY, INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY AND DIAGNOSTIC RADIOLOGY, NUCLEAR MEDICINE, RADIOLOGY - Neuroradiology, RADIOLOGY - Nuclear Radiology, RADIOLOGY - Pain Medicine, RADIOLOGY - Pediatric Radiology

Learning Objectives
  1. Identify and utilize dose reduction techniques to improve patient safety
  2. Apply health care quality improvement processes to increase medical error identification and reporting
  3. Analyze new scientific advances in image acquisition, quantification, processing, and visualization and apply technique to advance precision medicine

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, Penn Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.  

Designation of Credit
Physicians: Penn Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

ABIM MOC: Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 1.00 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

Physician Assistants: AAPA accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society. PAs may receive a maximum of 1.00 Category 1 credits for completing this activity.

Nurses: This program provides 1.00 NCPD Hours.

ABS MOC: Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn 1.00 credits toward the CME and Self-Assessment requirements of the American Board of Surgery’s Continuous Certification program. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABS credit.
