Updates in PET and Nuclear Medicine offers a focused review of current advances and best practices in nuclear medicine. Expert-led sessions will cover FDG PET in neurodegeneration and seizure disorders, Amyloid and Tau PET in Alzheimer’s imaging, and updates in thyroid, parathyroid, and cardiac PET imaging. The course also highlights emerging applications in imaging inflammation and infection, and reviews key PET radiotracers including FDG, FES, PSMA, and DOTATATE. A special focus on theranostics will explore evolving strategies for thyroid disease, prostate cancer, and neuroendocrine tumors.

This course is designed for nuclear medicine physicians, nuclear cardiologists, nuclear technologists, and diagnostic radiologists. Radiology and cardiology trainees are encouraged to attend this program and will benefit from doing so.

Objectives

After completing this activity, participants should be able to:


  1. Apply new knowledge to interpretation of FDG PET brain imaging for dementia and seizure disorders
  2. Describe and apply updates in thyroid and parathyroid imaging
  3. Apply standardized techniques to interpret amyloid and tau PET imaging for Alzheimer’s Disease
  4. Describe and apply updates and best practices for reading FDG, FES, PSMA, and DOTATATE PET/CT
  5. Discuss and apply updates in theranostics for thyroid disease, prostate cancer, and neuroendocrine tumors
  6. Discuss and apply best practices in cardiac PET/CT
  7. Review and apply updates to molecular imaging of inflammation/infection
