Course Overview
This series, which has been in existence for over 30 years, has been developed to add presentations that are necessary for comprehensive psychiatric and forensic psychiatric education. Anyone in the Department of Psychiatry, and those on the selected list, are sent notices of the presentations given weekly from September - May. At our planning session at the end of the academic year in May, the RSS Committee offers suggestions and recommendations for the next year. These recommendations are based on the presentations given over the last several years which require updating and follow-up. They also include new areas in psychiatry and forensic psychiatry that have been identified by current research and publications. We also link to risk management, which is mandatory in our continuing psychiatric education. We invite members of the general psychiatric faculty to present their research and clinical experiences as well as those focusing on forensic psychiatric issues.
