The monthly morbidity and mortality (M&M) conference provides a forum for discussing patient safety and health care quality and improvement topics relevant to the department of Neurology. Each session includes both a review of neurology-specific quantitative patient safety outcomes and health system processes in addition to an illustrative case-based presentation.

Objectives

After completing this activity, participants should be able to:


  1. Discuss how to improve methods to transition patients between services
  2. Discuss when to activate a rapid response and provide education about what the rapid response team provides to patient care.
  3. Discuss improved communication skills to better explain diagnosis to patients and families.


In support of improving patient care, Penn Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
