Abramson Cancer Center Grand Rounds 2025-2026 will provide a review of the pathophysiology and etiology of oncologic diseases.

The series is specific to the Radiation Oncology Department, and provides a safe environment to discuss cases and outcomes openly and without prejudice. Patient cases are presented by the managing attending physician and/or resident physician, and reviewed by peer physicians along with the interprofessional team (nurses, nurse practitioners, residents).

Patient cases related to protons are presented by the managing attending physician and/or resident physician. Cases are presented prior to start or within first several treatments of proton radiation therapy. The cases are reviewed by peer physicians and an interprofessional team, including nurses and nurse practitioners. Cases are reviewed for appropriateness of the proton treatment plan, target definition, and radiation doses.

To help provide an environment where patient care is the main priority and residents, fellows, and other members of the inter-professional healthcare team are able to provide quality patient care. Quality patient care will be assured through review of peer-reviewed literature, multidisciplinary cooperation, and following of established clinical practice guidelines.

This series will use an interdisciplinary approach to the management of patients with cancer to ensure best evidence-based care is given.

This series is designed to facilitate in a multidisciplinary consensus on the treatment plan for newly diagnosed and metastatic cancer cases to ensure compliance with the NCCN guidelines.
