Course Overview
This one-day event presents current topics of interest in clinical chest imaging presented by the faculty of the Thoracic Imaging Section from the Department of Radiology at the University of Pennsylvania. It will provide an overview and review of the areas of greatest practical interest and reflect the spectrum of translational clinical imaging research from the world’s most recognized source of scientific information in an easily accessible live format. Topics include chest tumor imaging, imaging for chest pain, and evolving techniques such as photon counting CT and Artificial Intelligence. The event is designed for chest radiologists, pulmonary physicians, thoracic surgeons, radiation oncologists, residents, fellows, interested medical students, and medical professionals. Attendees will learn about current and evolving techniques and diseases in chest medicine and obtain CME credit in an easily accessible format.

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, participants should be able to:


  1. Discuss current topics in chest imaging
  2. Describe how evolving techniques, such as photon counting CT and AI are changing the practice of chest imaging
  3. Summarize key chest imaging applications for thoracic surgery, pulmonology and radiation oncology
  4. Discuss diagnostic evaluation of chest tumors by imaging
  5. Identify new developments in the practice of chest imaging
