Professions - Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Physicians

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Describe aortic root anatomy and how it pertains to aortic valve repair
  2. Assess the suitability of the aortic root complex for aortic valve sparing techniques
  3. Compare and contrast the outcomes, limitations, and benefits of various valve sparing techniques
  4. Review techniques of bicuspid and tricuspid aortic leaflet repair
  5. Explain the importance and techniques within echocardiography to plan for aortic valve repair
  6. Evaluate the key echocardiographic parameters that are essential when assessing post-repair techniques
  7. Identify various techniques employed when performing valve-sparing root reimplantation and remodeling
  8. Describe clinical and echocardiographic surveillance after aortic valve repair
