Course Overview

Registration is closed.

Caring for children during the COVID-19 pandemic has raised a number of ethical challenges. When children suffer from COVID-19, or the multi-system inflammatory response sometimes associated with it, how should unapproved therapies be used and what sort of oversight is appropriate for innovative approaches outside the research context? How can the impact of the pandemic best be mitigated for pediatric patients suffering from other diseases and conditions, including considerations related to hospital visitation policies and delays in care? Finally, as we consider promising COVID-19 vaccines, how should we go about ethically including children in vaccine research?
