Course Overview
The objective of this conference is to discuss evidence derived from real world data and other clinical research methods that will influence clinical care in gastroenterology and hepatology. The meeting will have three sections: Advanced Liver Disease Management, Colon Cancer Prevention, and Inflammatory Bowel Disease Comparative Effectiveness. Each section will include a combination of clinical updates, introduction of important research methods germane to the subject matter and a panel discussion among experts in the field.

Objectives
Upon conclusion of this educational activity, the participant should be able to:

  1. Review latest advances in management of advanced liver disease derived from real world data.
  2. Assess the latest evidence on gastrointestinal cancer screening and prevention derived from real world data.
  3. Review and compare the results for comparative effectiveness studies in inflammatory bowel disease.
  4. Describe the resources and methods available for real world data studies in gastroenterology and hepatology.

There is no fee to register for this conference, however pre-registration is required. Registration includes live stream access to the conference and access to view the presentations (slides) online. All pre-registered attendees will receive a link and instructions to sign-in and join the virtual conference no later than Wednesday, January 27, 2021. Accreditation
In support of improving patient care, Penn Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.  
 
Designation of Credit
Physicians: Penn Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 6.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

ABIM MOC: Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 6.5 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
 
Physician Assistants: AAPA accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society. PAs may receive a maximum of 6.5 Category 1 credits for completing this activity.
