Supported by the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, this symposium will include recent initiatives in weight loss, specifically highlighting research and care in Pennsylvania. Presentations will include recent surgical innovations, pharmacotherapy initiatives, and allied health supporting care of the patient undergoing bariatric surgery.

This activity has been designed for bariatric surgeons, gastroenterologists, dieticians, nutritionists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and other healthcare professionals who treat bariatric surgery candidates.

Objectives

After completing this activity, participants should be able to:


  1. Review current guidelines for bariatric surgery care
  2. Describe psychological considerations of bariatric surgery care
  3. Assess pharmacotherapy needs of bariatric surgery patients
  4. Explore gaps in current evidence base for optimal bariatric surgery care


The fees to attend are $125.00.

Verified attendance includes access to view the presentations (videos and slides) online for one year. Pre-registration is required to attend. Walk-ins are discouraged. Please be sure to register in advance.

All preregistered attendees will receive access to the meeting, the program handout, continental breakfast, lunch, and breaks. Attendees will be required to sign-in to be marked as attended, receive credit and view the recorded content.

CANCELLATION POLICY
In order to process refunds for course withdrawals, cancellations must be received in writing by September 12, 2025 (subject to a service charge equivalent to 10% of the registration fee, but no less than $25.00). No refunds will be issued thereafter.

The University reserves the right to cancel or postpone any course due to unforeseen circumstances. In the event of cancellation or postponement, the University will refund registration fees but is not responsible for related costs or expenses to participants, including cancellation fees assessed by hotels, airlines, and travel agencies.
