Course Overview
During the conference, we present and review multiple cases. We emphasize the pathologic findings, including gross and histologic description, pertinent and relevant clinical information, and highlight important point and keys for providing patient care and a pathology team. During the conference we also review and present pertinent educational topics to enhance learning by reinforcing and elaborating on important points. This conference is intended for gross room personnel, including, but not limited to, physicians (pathologists), pathologist assistants, pathology technologists/technicians, and pathology trainees.

Objectives

After completing this activity, participants should be able to:


  1. Describe the relevance of grossing procedures.
  2. Discuss, familiarize, and learn routine and uncommon pathologic entities.
  3. Discuss the clinicopathologic correlation after review of pathology to solidify knowledge.
  4. Discuss how grossing impacts the final diagnosis
  5. Discuss case follow-up and feedback as an interprofessional team.
  6. Describe how to practice unity as a team with common goals.
