Current Advances in Heart and Vascular Care 2021 will provide the most current, evidence-based strategies for managing cardiovascular disease. The goal is to increase the knowledge of the inter-professional and multidisciplinary learner to provide high quality, cost effective care leading to superior, improved patient outcomes.


Target Audience
Specialties - INTERNAL MEDICINE

Learning Objectives
  1. Explain factors than facilitate or hinder a patient's return to work following a cardiac event.
  2. Discuss the causes and mechanisms of decreasing triglycerides to slow the progression of atherosclerosis.
  3. Identify the role of artificial intelligence technology in determining valvular heart disease.
  4. List 2 or more specific important clinical signs seen on electrocardiograms and correlate with patient symptoms.
  5. Describe new diagnostic techniques, medications, and procedures utilized in the care of the patient with cardiovascular disease.
  6. Identify appropriate PAD patients to be treated in Hybrid operating room.
  7. Discuss the importance of identifying minority health disparities and highlight programs and strategies to reduce disparities.

Registration
The registration fees for the Current Advances in Heart & Vascular Care 2021 are the following: $99 for Physicians or Industry Representatives, $79 for Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists. $59 for Nurses and Healthcare Professionals.

ATTN Chester County Hospital and Penn Medicine employees, faculty and staff: The registration fee is $49. In order to register at the reduced rate, you must sign into your account at https://upenn.cloud-cme.com and register online. 

The registration fee includes live stream access to the conference and access to view the presentations (slides) online. In-person attendance is not permitted for this conference. All pre-registered attendees will receive a link and instructions to sign-in and join the virtual conference.

We cannot accept faxed or mailed registration forms with credit card information. To pay by check, complete your registration online and mail a copy of your confirmation email with your check. See the registration form for mailing information.

Please note: mailed registrations can take up to 5-10 business days before they are received. We are experiencing longer delays receiving mail due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We encourage all attendees to register online with a credit card.

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, Penn Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.  

Designation of Credit
Physicians: Penn Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 6.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

ABIM MOC: Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 6.75 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

Nurses: This program provides 6.75 contact hours.

Physician Assistants: AAPA accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society. PAs may receive a maximum of 6.75 Category 1 credits for completing this activity.
