The goal of the Allergy & Immunology Grand Rounds Lecture Series is to present both basic and emerging clinical and scientific information to faculty and fellows. These presentations will focus on topics that are relevant to managing patients, and will satisfy the requirements of the fellowship curriculum. The A & I section and program directors will continuously assess needs and deficits of the fellows in order to guide conference topics. The success of the lectures will also be assessed through informal discussion and formal assessment including patient interaction and the annual in-service board exams. By the end of the fellowship training, with these conferences - participants (particularly fellows) should be able to independently assess and manage patients, as well as critically assess research.

1. Diagnose and treat patient with contact allergy
2. Educate patients about avoidance of allergens
3. Correctly order appropriate laboratory tests to evaluate for autoimmune disease
4. Effectively explain to the attending and patient, how their autoimmune disease interacts with his/her allergic or other immune disease
5. Correctly diagnose various common and less common immunodeficiency diseases
6. Order appropriate laboratory and genetic testing to elucidate the type of immune disorder

In support of improving patient care, Penn Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
