Neurosurgery Grand Rounds provides a didactic learning opportunity for the physician, nurses and physician's assistants to be exposed to advances in the fields of neurosurgery, neuroscience, preoperative and perioperative medicine, quality improvement, systems-based practice, and societal and community implications of neurosurgical practice. This educational activity is intended to provide the neurosurgical team with an opportunity to obtain new knowledge of technical and treatment advances and be aware of changes to clinical practice guidelines.

Objectives

After completing this activity, participants should be able to:


  1. Discuss new and changing neurosurgical clinical practice guidelines into routine care.
  2. Describe the importance of health care policies, health system performance, and patient experiences in neurosurgery
  3. Describe initiatives in improving quality of care delivery and newly implemented or continue to implement quality improvement measures in neurosurgical practice.


In support of improving patient care, Penn Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
