  1. Discuss the impact of pericarditis and review treatment options.
  2. List endovascular repairs of the thoracic and abdominal aorta.
  3. Review the benefits and expectations of mitral valve repair.
  4. Discuss the challenges identifying STEMI to OMI on 12 lead EKG tracings.
  5. Review CPAP devices and upper airway stimulation therapy.
  6. Identify clinical presentation of advanced heart failure to make early referrals to specialists.
  7. Review Atrial Fibrillation on 12 lead EKG tracings.
  8. Describe advancements in artificial intelligence for cardiovascular disease.

Current Advances in Heart & Vascular Care 2025 will be held Saturday, March 1, 2025 by in-person or live-stream (virtual) attendance. The live and virtual presentations will follow the scheduled agenda in real time (EST).

TO ATTEND BY LIVE-STREAM (VIRTUAL):
Attendees who are registered to attend virtually will receive an email that includes a link to join the symposium 24 hours in advance. All virtual attendees will be required to sign into the meeting using your first name, last name and email address in order to be marked as attended and receive credit.

VIRTUAL AND IN-PERSON REGISTRATION FEES
The fees to attend are as follows: $99 for physicians and industry attendees, $79 for nurse practitioners, physician assistants and CRNA's, and $59 for nurses and healthcare professionals, fellows, residents and students.

The registration fee is $49 for Penn Medicine Chester County Hospital and Penn Medicine Cardiovascular employees, faculty and staff.

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, Penn Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

DESIGNATION OF CREDIT

Physicians: Penn Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 6.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

ABIM MOC: Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 6.5 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

Physician Assistants: AAPA accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society. PAs may receive a maximum of 6.5 Category 1 credits for completing this activity.

Nurses: This program provides 6.5 NCPD Hours.

PA State-Approved EMS Continuing Education: This program provides 6.5 contact hours

CANCELLATION POLICY
In order to process refunds for course withdrawals, cancellations must be received in writing by February 14, 2025 (subject to a service charge equivalent to 10% of the registration fee, but no less than $25.00). No refunds will be issued thereafter.

The University reserves the right to cancel or postpone any course due to unforeseen circumstances. In the event of cancellation or postponement, the University will refund registration fees but is not responsible for related costs or expenses to participants, including cancellation fees assessed by hotels, airlines, and travel agencies.

Post-Test
The post-test will not be available until attendance has been verified.  You must complete the post-test and evaluation in order to claim your MOC credit.

“If you are an ABIM diplomate (American Board of Internal Medicine) and would like to claim your MOC (Maintenance of Certification), please note that you must pass the post-test with the score of 70% in order to claim MOC credit. You have 5 attempts."

At the end of the test, on question 7, please click the submit button and wait for the answer to register in the system. If the window is closed prior, the test will not automatically trigger the evaluation.
