As death rates from opioids continue to climb one of the more important tools to manage opioid use disorder (OUD) is proper opioid stewardship.  The presenter will discuss the effect of OUD and how prescribers opioids can affect a change.

1. Discuss risk factors that contribute to risk of opioid induced respiratory depression
2. Discuss five Penn Medicine Recourses for opioid stewardship
3. Describe opioid stewardship as it relates to different patient populations

In support of improving patient care, Penn Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
