The Pennsylvania Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) and faculty experts from Penn Medicine are offering an education curriculum for prescribers on best practices for using the PDMP and on how to address substance use disorder with patients. We invite you to view these complimentary online educational courses that are relevant to your practice needs and will address the following topics:

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, participants should be able to:

Accreditation
In support of improving patient care, Penn Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
  

Designation of Credit

Physicians: Penn Medicine designates this enduring material for a maximum of 4.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nurses: This program provides 4.0 contact hours.

Physician Assistants: Penn Medicine has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with the AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 4.0 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.

Opioid Education: This program provides 4.0 hours.

Introduction to Evidence-based Prescribing
Evidence-based Prescribing: An Online Course with Tools You Can Use to Fight the Opioid Epidemic consists of five modules. You may view the modules at your leisure. You will be required to complete the pre-test before you begin. The post-test is also required once you have viewed all five modules. You will have a maximum of 5 attempts to receive a score of at least 70% in order to pass the post-test. If you do not pass the post-test, no credits will be awarded. Once you have passed the post-test, you will be able to move forward to complete the program evaluation form. After the post-test and program evaluation are completed, you will be able to claim your credit and print your certificate.
