The goal of the Allergy and Immunology Grand Rounds Lecture Series is to present both basic (established) and emerging clinical and scientific information to learners. These presentations will focus on topics that are relevant to diagnosing and managing patient conditions and will satisfy the requirements of the fellowship curriculum and the American Board of Allergy & Immunology. The lectures will also satisfy the educational needs of the faculty and other staff (e.g. nursing) who attend. The A&I program director (PD) and associate PD will continuously assess needs and deficits of the fellows in order to guide conference topics. The success of the lectures will also be assessed through informal discussion and formal assessment including patient interaction and the annual in-service board exams. Feedback through the Annual Program Evaluation is also obtained. By the end of the fellowship training, with these conferences, participants (particularly fellows) should be able to independently assess and manage patients, as well as critically assess research data.
