This module is for informational purposes only and not for CME credit.

Welcome to Obesity Hypoventilation Syndrome, the next module in the Current Topics in Sleep Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania. This self-study internet-based enduring material provides a series of up-to-date modules on core topics and clinical cases in sleep medicine from leading experts in the Division of Sleep Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. CME/CE credit will be awarded upon completion of each module in the series. In this module, we will focus on the definition and prevalence of obesity hypoventilation syndrome, the basic pathophysiologic mechanisms, clinical characteristics of OHS, diagnostic evaluation, morbidity associated with OHS, and available treatment approaches.

  3. Describe basic pathophysiologic mechanisms involved with OHS
  4. Identify clinical characteristics of OHS
  5. Review diagnostic evaluation of OHS
  6. Review morbidity associated with OHS
  7. Review available treatment approaches
