Course Overview
The re-emergence of fentanyl has created a heightened need for clinicians to employ medications designed to treat opioid use disorder (MOUD) and implement harm reduction strategies.

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, participants should be able to:


  1. Review epidemiology of opioid use disorder including the re-emergence of fentanyl
  2. Practice evidence-based medicine for patients with OUD by using medications for opioid use (MOUD) disorder and harm reduction strategies
  3. Analyze the benefits of short-acting opioids as a tool for withdrawal and pain in patients with active OUD
